- Emergency evacuation or repatriation - Overseas funeral expenses - Accidental death, injury, or disablement benefits - Trip cancellation and/or curtailment insurance - Delayed departure coverage - Loss, theft, or damage to personal property, including money sources and travel documents - Delayed baggage coverage including emergency replacement of essential items - Legal assistance - Excess coverage for personal liability and damage when renting an automobile - Pre-existing medical conditions (for example, asthma or diabetes) - High-risk activities (for example, skiing or scuba-diving), or - Travel to high risk areas (for example, areas of with a history of political unrest or a high chance of natural disaster).
The cost of such insurance can range anywhere from less than $100US to five or ten percent of your total ticket value, depending on what coverage options are selected.
